Goodmorning, today a new challenge has started on the As you like it challenge blog and this time our challenge is being sponsored by Polkadoodles.
Now I can finally show you the big project my mother and I have been working on for the past few months. This year we decided to make another advent calendar for my nephews Menno and Niek. It was a really big project. Super fun to make, but sometimes not so easy to make. My mother did most of the work on the ferris wheel and I took care of the decoration with digital stamps from Di's digi stamps and Whimsy stamps.
The ferris wheels are made from cardstock with the Silhouette cameo. We have used the file Ferris wheel Christmas (389907) from Daniela Moscone. We delivered the advents calendars about 2 weeks ago and the boys really loved them! Let's hope they will love the inside also that much! ;)
As a decoration I have printed a couple of digital stamps. I did make them rather large, so they will have a nice size for the sides of the ferris wheels. I have made one ferris wheel with images from Di's digi stamps. On one side I have used the digital stamp Reaching for the stars from Di's digi stamps. I have coloured the image with my Polychromos pencils, the black glaze pen and a white gelpen. I have fussy cut the image and glued it with foamtape on the side of the ferris wheel.
On the other side I have used the digital stamp Snow buddies (retired) from Di's digi stamps.
On the other ferris wheel I have used 2 digital stamps from Whimsy stamps. On the one side I have used the digital stamp Penguins decorate the tree from Whimsy stamps. I have coloured the image with my Polychromos pencils, the black glaze pen and a white gelpen. I have fussy cut the image and glued it with foamtape on the ferris wheel.
On the other side I used the image Snowman and penguins(retired) from Whimsy stamps.
I have attached 24 little boxes on the ferris wheel that are made from red, white and green cardstock. The numbers on the boxes are made with the Planner essential 27 Retro number trio (1745) from Elizabeth craft designs. Alle boxes are decorated with little stars that I have cut from red, white and green cardstock with the Star confetti die (retired) from Alexandra Renke. Inside every box is another white box and that one holds the real present. It is glued shut, so the boys can't peek to look what is inside.
Do you see the little roll silver paper that is wrapped around the middle of the ferris wheel? Maybe we added a little extra surprise for the boys. They don't know anything about it at the moment, but I think they will find out during our Christmas dinner. ;)
