My selfmade storage for distress oxide blender foams

Goodmorning, today I am not showing you a card, but something else on my blog. It is a little tool/something useful for my cardmaking hobby. Like many other people I bought distress oxide inks and also the blender tool and the blending foams. The problem with the Distress oxide inks is that there is no place under the inkpad to store the foam. I have seen many solutions how to store these foams and I decided to add pages in a binder with velcro on it, so I could stick my foams on the velcro. But I wasnt totally satisfied, because it was a big mess because the foams are stil pretty wet with all the ink on them and I had ink everywhere in my binder. Last week I saw someone on facebook and she stored the foams in little containers and they were all together in a large container. That gave me the idea for my little foam storage. I asked my mother to design a box with a couple of drawers in it. In the drawers there should be little boxes for each foam. The box is made from white cardstock, but maybe I am going to decorate it in the future, because I am sure it will get messy with distress oxide ink fingers. ;) I have made plastic handles on each of the drawers.

In iedere lade is ruimte voor 12 blending foams.

There is room for 12 blending foams in each drawer.

On the bottom of each box I adhered a sticker with the name of the ink on it. The boxes aren't glued in the drawer, so if one gets really dirty or breaks, I can always repleace it. I have also added a paper on the bottom of the drawers with all the names of the inks on it.

I can take the drawer out of the box and than it is really easy to get the right blending foam you need.

Een kleine demonstratie. ;)

A little demonstration. ;)

  1. That's a really clever idea for the pads. Oddly I made something along a similar line for my mini ink pads but yours is much more professional looking! I will have to rethink mine because I need to store the blender pads now too! I would like to store the blender pads with the ink pads but not sure how to do that! I like your idea.
