Purple onion designs - Birthday wishes

Goodmorning, today I am showing you 2 cards. I colored the images a while ago and back then I thought it would be fun to color the same image with different colormediums. The left card is colored with my pencils and odorless mineral spirits and the right one is colored with Derwent inktense pencils. I tried to use the same colors on both cards. I am not a big fan of the color of the sky on the right card, I would have liked the same color as on the left card better.

On the cards I made an image with a couple of stamps from Purple onion designs. I really love the images from Stacey Yakula studio and I used thse on this card. I used the following images: Bunting, Charlie (standing fox with drink)Chloe (bunny with flower) and Grass. On the cards I have used desing paper from the Sunkissed paperpad from Doodlebug. I love the look of kraft paper together with a rainbow. I adhered the strip of design paper on once card horizontally and on the other vertically.. I adhered the strip of design paper first on black paper. I have drawn faux stitching around the edges of the card with a black pen. The sentiment is from the Rachelle Anne Miller set Soar from Crafter companion.

I decorated the card with Onyx sequins from Pretty pink posh.

I want to enter this card in the following challenges:

  8. This is such a neat idea - colouring the same image with different mediums! ;o) I might give that a try, just to see which effect I like the best! I obviously love both your cards, but I prefer the colouring from the one on the left. Which pencils and which spirit did you use? Thank you! Happy crafting ;o) Maike

PS: Just ordered the newest Stacey Yakula release and can't wait for it to arrive ;o)

  13. Two fabulous cards. What a clever experiment. I particularly love the bright hues of the inktense card, but then I guess that's why the pencils are called inktense, lol.

Thanks for joining our Anything Goes challenge.
