Tiddly Inks - Dread pirate Dylan

Hallo! :)

Hello! Today I have made this card and matching treasure chest. When I saw these new images from Christy Croll in the Tiddly Inks shop, I immediately knew what I was going to make with them, because I had bought a pack of chocolate money in december when Sinterklaas was visiting our country. I didn't have time to make my project then, bit when I saw the awesome image of pirate Dylan I really wanted to make it! :)

On my card I used 2 images: Dread pirate Dylan and the treasure map, which is available as line art but also already coloured. I have chosen to use the line art version and colour it myself. Then I have cut the map out and distressed the edges of the map with scissors. Then I wrinkled the card. I used brown ink to distress the edges of the map and the wrinkles. This way it looks really old. Dylan is coloured with pencils  and I used the black glaze pen for his eye. The buttons on his coat are made with a yellow perlen pen. The circle was cut with the nestabilities and then I embossed it with the Checkerboard embossing folder from Provocraft, that is for sale at Oh my crafts. The brown card is Cookie dough paper from Elzybells. I doodled on the edges of the card with a black fineliner.

With the help of a pattern from the Silhouette shop I made this treasure chest from the cookie dough paper from Elzybells. I  distressed all the edges of the chest with black ink and tried to draw some screws. ;) I found the lock somewhere in my stash and I think it is perfect for the treasure chest. The chest is filled with chocolate coins.
