Hello, today a new challenge starts again on the As you like it challenge blog, and this week the challenge is sponsored by Lee Holland digis. This time, we’d love to know what your favourite die is to use on your cards. It might sound odd, but I’ve chosen a brand new die as my favourite. Craft Addiction has released a new series of dies called the Slatted dies. I have several shapes, but I especially love these circles. They’re just perfect for a simple card that doesn’t need much embellishment.
For the challenge, I chose a white card measuring 10 x 10 cm. On top of this, I used the Double cards 101x10 cm with 2 layers from Crealies to cut a layer from white cardstock. From this layer, I die-cut a stitched circle using The slatted circle collection from Craft addiction. On the card base itself, I created a background behind the circle using Wilted Violet and Villainous Potion Distress Inks. I then adhered the layer with the cut-out circle onto the card using foam tape.
Using the Wings of elegance from Craft addiction, I die-cut two butterflies from white cardstock. I coloured them with Black Soot, Wilted Violet, and Villainous Potion Distress Inks. The butterflies were then attached to the card with foam tape, and I embellished their bodies with crystal hotfix gems. Finally, I stamped a sentiment from the Bulletjournal - Tekst Diversen stamp set by Craft Emotions (now out of business) onto the card.
