As you like it challenge 287 - My favourite non card project

Hallo, vandaag begint er weer een nieuwe challenge op het As you like it challenge blog en deze week worden we gesponsord door Lili of the valley. Deze week willen we geen kaarten zien, maar je favoriete andere bezigheid naast het kaarten maken. Ik ben een paar jaar geleden begonnen met tekenen en dat is nu echt mijn favoriete ding om te doen naast het kaartenmaken, dus ik post een bloementekening. Ik vind het erg leuk om te doen en ik vind het ook erg ontspannend om te doen. 

Voor de challenge vandaag heb ik een tekening gemaakt van één van mijn lievelingsbloemen, namelijk de cosmos. Op instagram zag ik bij Artsybeats mooie voorbeelden staan om na te tekenen en dus heb ik mijn eigen tekening gemaakt. Ik heb op Carte postales (10,5x14,8 cm) aquapad 300gr van Clairefontaine eerst een schets gemaakt met mijn potlood. Ik heb de afbeelding daarna overgetrokken met mijn Zwarte Unipin fineliners. Ik heb de bloemen gekleurd met mijn Schmincke aquarelverf.

This week we don't want to see cards, but instead we want to see what your favourite thing is to do when you are not making cards. A couple of years ago I started drawing again and I really love doing it, so today I am posting a flower drawing that I have made. I think it is really relaxing to make a drawing.

For this challenge I have made a drawing with one of my favourite flowers on it: the cosmos. On instagram I have found a great post from Artsybeats with a couple of nice examples for cosmos flowers and I used it to make my own drawing. I have made a pencil sketch on a sheet of Carte postales (10,5x14,8 cm) aquapad 300gr from Clairefontaine. I have traced the drawing with Black Unipin fineliners. I coloured the flowers with Schmincke watercolours.

Karin Joan Sketch stencils -

Hallo, vandaag post ik weer een nieuwe tag die ik heb gemaakt met de Sketch stencils van Karin Joan. Ik ben begonnen met het stansen van de tag met de A tag for all (retired) van Avery elle uit aquarelpapier van de Action. Hierop heb ik met inkt blending kwasten en Mustard seed, Carved pumpkin, Candied apple en Lumberjack plaid Distress inkt een achtergrond gemaakt. Ik heb de tag op zwart karton geplakt en daarna heb ik de tag uitgesneden zodat er overal een randje zwart papier rondom de tag zit. De grote bloem komt uit de set Sketch stencils Floral 1 van Karin Joan en deze heb ik samen met de blaadjes en de bloemsteel met Zwarte Unipin fineliners op mijn tag getekend. Met dunnere fineliner heb ik nog wat extra details op de bloemen getekend. Met een zwart kleurpotlood heb ik wat schaduw rondom de bloem getekend. Uit zwart papier heb ik de tekst twee keer gestanst met de A tag for all (retired) van Avery elle. Nadat ik de woorden op elkaar heb geplakt heb ik ze op de tag geplakt.

Hello, today I am posting a new tag that I have made with the Sketch stencils from Karin Joan. I started with cutting the tag with the A tag for all (retired) from Avery elle from watercolour paper from Action. With ink blending brushes and Mustard seed, Carved pumpkin, Candied apple and Lumberjack plaid Distress ink I made a background on it. I have glued the tag on black cardstock and cut it again to add a border everywhere around the tag. The large flower is from the set Sketch stencils Floral 1 from Karin Joan and I have drawn it together with the leaves with Black Unipin fineliners on the tag. I added a little bit of extra shadow with a black pencil. I have cut a sentiment from the set A tag for all (retired) from Avery elle twice out of black cardstock and after I glued them on top of each other I glued them on the tag.

Karin Joan Sketch stencils - Drawing with alcohol markers

Hallo, vandaag post ik weer een nieuwe tekening die ik heb gemaakt met de Sketch stencils van Karin Joan. Deze keer heb ik mijn tekening gemaakt met mijn nieuwe alcohol markers en het was erg leuk om te doen. 

Ik heb mijn tekening gemaakt in het Alcohol marker paper pad van Ohuhu. Ik heb voor de tekening de bloemen uit de set Sketch stencils Floral 2 van Karin Joan gebruikt. Ik heb de tekening eerst met potlood in mijn boekje gemaakt. Ik heb de tekening daarna ingekleurd met mijn Ohuhu alcohol markers. Daarna heb ik de tekening overgetrokken met mijn Zwarte Unipin fineliners. Tenslotte heb ik nog wat kleine schaduwen op mijn bloemen en blaadjes getekend met mijn Polychromos potloden.

I have made my drawing in the Alcohol marker paper pad from Ohuhu. For my drawing I have used the set Sketch stencils Floral 2 from Karin Joan for the flowers. Then I coloured everything with my Ohuhu alcohol markers. Then I traced everything with the Black Unipin fineliners. With my Polychromos pencils I have added some little shadows on the flowers and leaves.

Hallo, ik heb weer een nieuwe kaart gemaakt met de Sketch stencils van Karin Joan. Met de Crea-nest-lies XXL 118 van Crealies heb ik een rechthoek uit aquarelpapier van de Action gestanst. Hierop heb ik met Picked raspberry, Mustard seed en Mermaid lagoon Distress inkt een achtergrond gemaakt. Daarna heb ik met de Sketch stencils Floral 2 van Karin Joan de bloem en blaadjes getekend op de achtergrond. Het hartje van de bloem is getekend met een stencil uit de set Sketch stencils Floral 1 van Karin Joan. Ik heb met een zwart kleurpotlood nog wat extra schaduw op de bloem getekend. Ik heb de achtergrond met de bloem met foamtape op een witte kaart geplakt. Ik heb een tekst van de stempelset Brushed greetings II (retired) van Clearly besotted op de kaart gestempeld. Ik heb de kaart daarna versierd met zwarte hotfix steentjes.

Hello, I have made a new card with the Sketch stencils from Karin Joan. With the Crea-nest-lies XXL 118 from Crealies I have cut a rectangle from watercolour paper from the Action. I have ink blended a background on it with Picked raspberry, Mustard seed and Mermaid lagoon Distress ink. Then I used the Sketch stencils Floral 2 from Karin Joan to draw the flower and leaves on the background. I used a stencil from the set Sketch stencils Floral 1 from Karin Joan to draw the flower heart. With a black pencil I have some extra shadow on the flower. I glued the background with foamtape on a white card. I have stamped a sentiment from the set Brushed greetings II (retired) from Clearly besotted on the card. The card is decorated with black hotfix gems.

Hallo, vandaag begint er weer een nieuwe challenge op het As you like it challenge blog en deze keer wordt onze challenge gesponsord door Dies to die for. Deze keer willen we weten of je liever kaarten met bloemen of juist schattige kaarten maakt. Ik vind beide stijlen erg leuk. Met bloemen kun je prachtige stijlvolle kaarten maken en cute kaarten zijn ook erg leuk om te doen! Ik bepaal vaak de stijl die ik gebruik als ik weet voor wie een kaart is. Mijn neefjes maak ik echt niet blij met een bloemenkaart en anderen zullen cute kaarten niet zo leuk vinden. Ik vind trouwens diertjes met (grote) bloemen helemaal leuk om mee te werken.

Voor de challenge van vandaag heb ik een slimline kaart gemaakt. De geschulpte laag is met de Slimline frames (CR1537) van Marianne Design uit zwart karton gestanst. Daarna heb ik een laag uit Florence watercolour paper smooth (300 gram) van Vaessen creative gesneden. Hierop heb ik met het Paint strokes stencil van My favorite things en Picked raspberry, Spiced marmalade, Carved pumpkin, Squeezed lemonade, Mowed lawn, Peacock feathers en Mermaid lagoon Distress inkt een achtergrond gemaakt. Daarna heb ik met de Sketch stencils Floral 2 van Karin Joan een paar bloemen over de achtergrond getekend met mijn zwarte fineliners. Ik heb verschillende diktes gebruikt om zo mooi wat details toe te kunnen voegen. Ik heb een tekst van de stempelset Handletter - Huwelijk (retired) van Craft emotions over de bloem gestempeld. Ik heb de Confetti stamp van Cats on appletrees op diverse plekken op mijn kaart gestempeld met zwarte inkt. Als laatste heb ik nog een lijntje langs de randen van het witte papier getekend met mijn fineliner.

This time we would love the know if you prefer making floral cards or cute cards. I love both styles. With flowers you can make very elegant cards, but cute cards are also very much fun to make. If I know who is going to receive my card, I most of the times decide which style I am going to use. My little nephews will not enjoy receiving a floral card and other people will not like cute cards. The most fun is making cards with cute animals with (big) flowers. 

For today's challenge I have made a slimline card. The scalloped layer is cut with the Slimline frames (CR1537) from Marianne Design from black cardstock. The card and top layer is cut from Florence watercolour paper smooth (300 gram) from Vaessen creative. On the top layer I have made a background with the Paint strokes stencil from My favorite things and Picked raspberry, Spiced marmalade, Carved pumpkin, Squeezed lemonade, Mowed lawn, Peacock feathers and Mermaid lagoon Distress ink. Then I have drawn a flower on top of the background with the Sketch stencils Floral 2 from Karin Joan with black fineliners. I used several sizes to add extra details. I have stamped a sentiment from the set Handletter - Huwelijk (retired) from Craft emotions on the card.  I added extra details on the card with the Confetti stamp from Cats on appletrees, that I have stamped with black ink. I added lines around the edges of the white cardstock with a black fineliner.

Hallo, vandaag begint er weer een nieuwe challenge op het As you like it challenge blog. Deze keer wordt onze challenge gesponsord door Lili of the valley. Deze keer willen we graag weten wat je favoriete bloem is. Ik ben erg gek op klaprozen en cosmea bloemen. Vorige week heb ik al een kaartje voor Ayli gemaakt met een klaproos en dus heb ik deze keer voor de cosmea gekozen. Ik vind ze er gewoon erg leuk uitzien en wilde ze al lang zelf eens tekenen. Door deze challenge heb ik dat eindelijk eens gedaan.

I really love poppies and cosmos flowers. Last week I made a card with a poppy for the ayli challenge, so this week I decided to use the cosmos. I really love the look of these flowers and I wanted to draw one myself for a long time. This challenge was the perfect excuse to really do it! 

Afgelopen vrijdag ben ik naar de kreadoe geweest in Utrecht. Ik heb daar zwarte enveloppen 7x10 cm van Kimya creatieve verpakkingen gekocht. Het leek me heel leuk om daar kleine kaartjes voor te maken met daarop mooie bloemen getekend met zwarte fineliners. Het past dus ook nog perfect bij het thema van deze challenge. Ik heb op Pixabay gezocht naar mooie foto's van cosmea bloemen en daarop heb ik mijn tekeningen gebaseerd. Ik heb de kaartjes gesneden uit wit karton met een mooie structuur en daarna heb ik de schets gemaakt met potlood. Daarna heb ik de afbeeldingen overgetrokken met zwarte fineliners. Met een zwarte copic marker heb ik kleine spatjes op het kaartje aangebracht.

Last friday I visited a large kraft fair in Utrecht. On the fair i have bought little black envelopes 7x10 cm from Kimya creatieve verpakkingen. I had the idea to make little cards for these with pretty flowers drawings done with fineliners. It is also perfect for this week challenge. I have looked for some inspiration pictures on Pixabay and used those as an inspiration for my cards. I have cut the little cards from white cardstock with a nice structure. I made the sketches with a pencil and then I traced them with black fineliners. I added little paint splatters with a black copic marker.

To finish the cards I have stamped 2 different sentiment (get well and thank you) from the set Bulletjournal - Tekst diversen from Craft emotions on the cards.

Isa Down - Loose florals in ink

Goedemorgen, een tijdje geleden ben ik lid geworden van Skillshare. Ik heb daar een les gevolgd van Isa Down. In deze les leer je een cowboy poppy tekenen en daarna kleur je hem ook nog in met aquarelverf. 

Voor mijn kaartje van vandaag heb ik besloten om alleen de zwart-wit versie te gebruiken. Met de Crea-nest-lies XXL 130 van Crealies heb ik een rechthoek uit wit karton gestanst en daarop heb ik eerst met potlood mijn klaproos getekend. Daarna heb ik de afbeelding overgetrokken met zwarte fineliners in verschillende maten. Naast de afbeelding heb ik een kleine tekst van de set Simple script van Clearly besotted gestempeld. Ik heb de afbeelding met foamtape op een rode kaart geplakt. 

Goodmorning, a while ago I became a member of Skillshare. On skillshare I have followed a lesson from Isa Down. In that lesson we were learning how to draw a cowboy poppy with ink and then we coloured it with watercolours.

For my card I decided to go for a black and white poppy only. With the Crea-nest-lies XXL 130 from Crealies I have cut a rectangle from white cardstock and then I started drawing the poppy on it with a pencil. After I was done I traced the image with black fineliners in different sizes. I have stamped a sentiment from the set Simple script from Clearly besotted on the rectangle. I have glued the image with foamtape on a red card.
